Cruelty Free Beauty Tip #3:
An important part of nearly every woman’s beauty routine to achieve beautiful, healthy, glowing skin is exfoliating. Unfortunately, because this is such a significant step, it can also add up to be an expensive one too. However, many people don’t know that you can make your very own simple exfoliate tailored to YOUR skin’s need-right in your own home.
Choose one of the following basic recipes that is suited to your skin type, and feel free to play around with it! (Substituting ingredients, ect. It’s fun!) Mix them together, gently massage it onto your face and neck with your finger tips in small, circular motions, And wa-la! You’re done!
For Oily Skin
Simply add a couple tablespoons of sugar to a small bowl, and then add about a tsp or so of something citrus-y to help balance the oiliness of your skin. Anything such as lemon juice, lime juice, or apple cider vinegar will definitely get the job done!
For Dry Skin
Grab some honey, add about 1-2 teaspoons to a little bit of sugar (approx. 2 TBS) and a teensy bit of a liquid such as water or tea to get the consistency you want! OR if you suffer from really dry skin, try adding a teensy bit of oil instead-olive, vegetable, grape-seed, whatever you have on hand will work!
Normal-Combination Skin
Basically, this is a combination of the scrubs for dry and oily skin. Take a few tablespoons of sugar in a bowl, add about a teaspoon of honey, about a teaspoon of tea, and a few drops of something citrus-y, such as lemon juice.
And on top of saving money, it’s also all natural and cruelty free! What do you have to lose? :)
**PS. If you have sensitive skin opt for brown sugar rather than white sugar- it’s a lot gentler!***
